Nordend is very centrally located and still has an air of bohemian flavour to it thanks to it being the melting pot in 1970’s for many liberal and free thinking minds to come together to share and inspire. Today it is popular with young professionals and families thanks to its good transport links, schools and social scene.
Between Friedberger Landstrasse and Oederweg one can find a plethora of bars, restaurants and cafes which are well worth exploring. Also be on the look out The Holzhausenpark (including Holzhausen Castle) is often a host to many concerts and exhibitions.
On the downside, if you drive, parking is an absolute nightmare! If circling your apartment each evening for hours before finding a suitable (or not so suitable parking) doesn’t sound like fun then be sure to check when looking to rent a property whether it comes with parking or has the opportunity to rent one.
Because Nordend is a very popular area, rent can be on the higher side. If you find a flat you love then grab it then and there as available flats don’t last long.
