Bahnhofsviertel some might say is in the middle of a ‘revolution’!  Once notorious for its red light district, it is now home to some of the coolest see and be seen bars and restaurants in Frankfurt.  With its mix mash of clientele it is one of our favourite areas in the city to visit and go out, always a hive of activity!

Whilst the city of Frankfurt has made huge steps in cleaning up the main station area (Hauptbahnhof) it does still remain on certain streets a hub for drug use and prostitution, so don’t be alarmed should you encounter any ‘extracurricular activity’. If however you are a little faint of heart and prefer less ‘excitement’ but would like to visit the area, Kaiserstraße is a pretty safe bet!

Good to know:

  • the Rewe to go on Kaiserstraße is open on a Sunday
  • some fantastic art galleries on Niddastraße
  • check out Plank, Amp, Club Michel, and Bar Shuka.
