The Botanical Gardens is an absolutely wonderful family day out! You can choose to go for a few hours or take your picnic and go for the day…

It’s the perfect oasis to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city (perhaps even escape to a tropical destination for an hour or two – imagination is not only reserved for little ones ????)….plenty to keep the horticulturalist in you entertained!

Saying that there are plenty of activities to keep little people busy too!!

Head to the small lake and hire a row boat or pedal boat and make your way round the water while watching the fish popping up and down. Be sure to avoid the ducks bobbing along!

After that, make your way to the Palmen Express for a ride, the train winds it way through the garden (although please manage expectations it’s only +/- 5 minutes) which takes you to the other side of the garden where you will find a great play area and in the summer months water sprinklers for the kids to run in (so be prepared and take plenty of sunscreen and swim gear!

On the premises you find 3 restaurants and a kids kiosk to fill any rumbling tummies when the time comes.
